Say hello to Cindy
The rumors are true—I gained a roommate today. And her name is Cindy.
I discovered her—headless, armless and super dirty—in my parents’ garage this weekend and despite any reservations about the weird-factor of bringing a headless, armless, super dirty torso into my home, I knew she belonged in Madison.
Once we arrived home, I carried Cindy into the apartment and immediately set to work giving her a bath. And by bath, of course, I mean wiping her down with disinfecting wipes. With a little elbow grease from yours truly, Cindy started looking revitalized and refreshed in no time! I allowed her borrow a few tank tops of mine for the time being, as you can see at left. She refused to wear pants though. It was the weirdest thing…
Anyway, Cindy really does have a purpose around here. She won’t just hang out in our apartment like a super creep at a P.O.P. (Pants Off Party, duh). Oh no—that’s only half her job. She is working as a part-time model for my new venture—Style for a Cure.
In honor of 13-year-old Jesse Alswager who passed away in February from complications with type 1 diabetes, I’m riding 105 miles in Death Valley, California this year through the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Before then, I’m working to raise $3,000 to both fund my ride and go toward research to find a cure.
Through my new venture, Style for a Cure, you can improve your personal style and contribute money to my ride and JDRF by buying a scarf! (How simple/awesome is that?!) Half of the proceeds of each scarf sold goes toward the cause. Plus, with the purchase of a scarf, you will gain access to a password-protected page full of different ways to tie your new scarf!
Each scarf costs $20 plus tax, if applicable. Most purchases made in the Madison, Wis. area, I’ll be able to deliver, but should you require shipping, you will also need to recoup that cost. I’m not made of money, people.
